Community Fundraising Terms & Conditions
Our organisation is required to meet various legal obligations that apply to fundraising in the community. Catherine House has been granted a Section 6 and Section 7 Licence by the Office of the Liquor and Gaming Commissioner to collect money or goods, or conduct entertainment to which any charge for admission is made for charitable purposes under the Collection for Charitable Purposes Act 1939 (SA).

- The ‘organiser’ is defined as an individual, organization, or group involved in organising a fundraising event or activity benefitting Catherine House;
- All fundraising events or activities need to abide by all State / Territory charities’ legislation, and organisers must apply for any permits and authorities that may be required;
- The organiser is advised to ensure they have the relevant insurance and indemnity considered necessary in association with any event that involves the general community or individual members of the public;
- The organiser must obtain approval, including a ‘letter of authority’, from Catherine House before fundraising events or activities are held or promoted;
- The organiser must not incur any expenses in the name of Catherine House;
- Catherine House is not liable for any damages or medical expenses incurred during the fundraising events or activities;
- The organiser will be responsible for organising and managing the fundraising events or activities;
- All fundraising events or activities need to be referred to as ‘proudly supporting Catherine House’ (as opposed to a ‘Catherine House event’);
- All publicity in reference to the fundraising event or activity should clearly state that the event activity is being organised by (name of the organiser);
- All promotional material must be worded in such a way as to make it clear that Catherine House is either the only beneficiary, or is one of a number of charities benefitting from the event;
- The organiser must not represent themselves as acting on behalf of Catherine House. If you would like a representative from Catherine House to attend, please contact our office;
- The organiser must abide by the Catherine House Logo Usage Guidelines for use of the Catherine House ‘Proudly Supporting’ logos;
- All promotional material, including media releases, must be approved by Catherine House prior to release;
- The organiser is not permitted to speak to the media or comment on behalf of Catherine House;
- All proceeds of the event benefitting Catherine House are to be remitted within four (4) weeks of completing the event or activity;
- The loan of any Catherine House promotional material must be returned to Catherine House within five (5) business days of the fundraising event or activity date;
- Catherine House may revoke the organiser’s agreement to fundraise at any time if any terms and conditions have been breached.
- The organiser will ensure that Catherine House is informed of the development of any fundraising concepts and approve any promotional or media releases citing Catherine House.
