Walk with us to say NO to Domestic Violence

Catherine House is proud to be joining the ‘Rotary Says NO to Domestic Violence’ Walk for Respect on Saturday, 25 November, and we need YOU to walk with us.

This year, fifty-seven women have been murdered by men since January. 88% of these women died as a result of intimate partner violence or domestic and family violence. 

This free, peaceful parade aims to raise awareness and offer the wider community an insight into key signs of coercive control. It is also an opportunity for us to stand up for our mothers, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, friends and colleagues and say this can no longer be accepted.

Register to walk and select Catherine House as your group. Participants supporting Catherine House are encouraged to wear a Catherine House t-shirt, which can be purchased at the discounted price of $15.00.

We particularly encourage workplaces, schools and community clubs to get involved and join us on this very important day.

9:00am – 10:00am: Meet
Meet at Tarntanyangga/Victoria Square

10:00am – 10:30am: Walk for Respect
Walk, run or roll the gentle 1.2km along King William Street to the beautiful Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden

10:30am to 11:00am: Presentation
Presentation held at the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden

11:00am to 12:00pm:

How to register

To register to walk with Catherine House, follow the steps below:

Click here, select the number of people you are registering, and click continue.

Enter your details for each participant. 

When asked, “Please tick the group you would like to walk with“, select Catherine House from the dropdown menu. 

After registering, you will receive an email from Molly, our Fundraising & Campaign Coordinator, with a discount code to purchase a Catherine House t-shirt.
