07 Nov National Other’s Week
Looking out for others during National Other’s week
The National Other’s week campaign began nine years ago and was created to encourage people across Australia to notice the needs of others and to show kindness. Whether you are giving or receiving an act of kindness David Hamilton PhD recognised that acts of kindness can have positive side effects on us. From making us happier from helping another person, kindness also helps us build stronger relationships with one another and is shown to create a ripple effect inspiring others to also share kindness.
In a fast paced world it can be easy to forget about the needs of others, especially those people who are less fortunate than ourselves. During National Other’s week it is an important time to stop and think about other people and the challenges they may be facing.
At Catherine House we recognise the importance of acts of kindness, especially those in the community that donate to Catherine House. Donations are one act of kindness which can assist the women who are at Catherine House. Acts of kindness can include making financial donations, or donations of goods to Catherine House to help the women on their journey to recover from homelessness.
From new household items, to gift cards and financial donations. All donations are greatly appreciated at Catherine House. To find out what items are currently on the Catherine House Wish List and for more information please visit OUR WISH LIST or if you are interested in making a financial donation to Catherine House please visit our DONATE PAGE.
National other’s week runs from the 3rd to the 9th of November and is a reminder for us to stop and take time out of our busy lives to think about others and to help make a difference in the lives of those in need.
