Catherine House offers transitional supported accommodation and outreach support to clients from our Emergency Program and clients living in supportive housing as part of our post crisis service. Referrals are made from the Emergency Program as vacancies arise, however referrals to the Supportive Housing properties are open to all specialist homelessness providers. Access to these services is dependent on program vacancies.
The Moving On program consists of 8 two bedroom units, in which clients can stay up to a maximum of 18 months. Clients work with their case worker on a weekly basis to address current barriers to living independently and work towards goals that will assist them live a life that is meaningful to them. Clients also work towards long term housing options.
The Outreach service allows us to provide a continuum of support to women that leave our accommodation programs and those already living in the community. This support may be ongoing assistance to sustain a tenancy or for brief crisis intervention work, at times it may include advocacy to enable the client to secure long-term housing options.
The Supportive Housing program provides clients with an initial 12-month lease in an independent unit. Clients work with a case worker to address barriers to accessing long-term housing and assist with other goals they have identified that will assist them have a more purposeful and meaningful life.
