Catherine House offers two mental health programs, the Recovery Program (RP) and the Permanent Supported Accommodation Program (PSAP). These programs offer accommodation services to women living with mental health issues.
The Recovery Program (RP) provides supported accommodation to women 18 years and older who are currently homeless and living with mental health issues. It is a 24/7 service, which can accommodate 12 clients. 7 clients are on-site in a congruent residential setting with an additional 5 clients in single-living independent accommodation.
The Program operates within a psychosocial framework of service delivery that is based on recovery and rehabilitation principles using strength’s based perspective. Case management is client directed and acknowledges existing skills and strengths to support clients to identify their recovery goals. There is also a strong focus on client’s participation in educational and/or recreational activities that assist them to build confidence, resilience and self-management.
The Recovery Program is committed to working in partnership with client’s families, program partners and other agencies to enhance quality of life and to support their ability to maintain community tenure.

Permanent Supported Accommodation Program
The Permanent Supported Accommodation Program (PSAP) is home to 12 residents. Opened in February 2009, the program provides a vital women-only congregate living space for women who have experienced long term chronic mental illness, significant periods of institutional living and homelessness. It is staffed 24 hours 7 days a week. Nutritious meals and housekeeping services are provided.
PSAP has a strong recovery focus. The model encourages stability and wellness, with opportunities to become involved in a range of on-site and external personal development opportunities.
A full-time Program Coordinator works in partnership with Mental Health Care Coordinators and other support networks, to enable women to enjoy a healthier, more satisfying and independent lifestyle.
